Bread and butter #227 (When I need to grow up.)

Laoban told me today that she needs to let me grow up.

Haha, not that she's been controlling me too much or I've been refusing to grow up, but she wishes that she will be less involved in my work so that I will be able to learn more by myself. She then allowed me to take more control, and take up a new task.

And me, being refreshed and recharged, took up the challenge.

Cindy Koh, ni yao jia you, bu yao rang lao ban he zi ji shi wang! :)

15 months old gentleman knows how to walk already!

Look at this little wonder!
While I was away, he learned how to walk! :)
Oh well, he's supporting the same soccer team as his dad. Not sure if he's being forced to, haha. He loves to fiddle with (and pull, oh my god) my red bear hanged at my camera......then giggle at how uptight I would be.
His latest hobby: Switching off the tv while the rest are watching. Hahaha.

Miss him so much! :)

Bread and butter #226 (First day of work in 2009.)

Really glad to be back in Singapore, back home and back to my second home:Photo by BT.I must say I am SUPER SHIOK to see the above. Emails dated "three weeks ago" before I ''send/receive''. Weehoo! Three weeks of not checking workmail. Plain shiokness. :P
And look at the array of presents I got! A card and sweet present from TW- a tee that we both wanted to buy but forgot to buy in JB, a Christmas gift and a candy from BY, a travel organiser from ED, a super sweet survival kit and a lovely card from XY, a card and candy from laoban, another card and candy from LC, purses, adidas sports suit and card from SA, candy and SM-style note (haha) from SM, my gift from Santa Beng, and a scarf from PY which is wrapped in a very creative manner:

Meanwhile I'm still in a floating mode. Haven't quite settled down to work life yet, and enjoying every moment of nua-ing. For my RS volunteers.

And, for the folks! Teamwork- what we're best at.

Folks, this year will be a great year. Let's all 加油 together!

P/S: I'm looking forward to Social Workers' Day, SCS Staff Day, all kinds of outings with folks, and of course, all sorts of opportunities this year- especially my idea which I'm going to propose to CM. -prays hard-

The Maths teacher...

''I love today, well sort of. Exception of Mr KK's period. He's so whatever!''

''MATH...kk, kk, kk, kk..haha..see him till sianx..haha...''

''There is 1 teacher who is really good. Mr KK haha. He motivates, talk craps, teaches and shows us his funny baby photos for relaxation. maths lessons are always fun with his jokes which makes learning easier. even though he gives detention like free (hopes he dun see this ) but it is over. no more detention. and i really grateful of him when he called my hse when i was late for O level e maths paper 2. not for him i tink i can forget about taking the rest of my papers as without e maths. everything also useless. hopefully i am able to get a A1 for my e maths so as not to disappoint him.''

Well, I guess we have one more thing in common.

For students, with students.

This Maths teacher is my brother. :)

Pink.

Pink did not give me a good impression when she first started off as a singer, I guess during my secondary school days? During my overseas trip to Italy, I watched a show featuring her life and her songs, and I got to know this lady a bit better. She is actually a very real person- just like any other person, she faces her own family issues, she's 敢爱敢恨, she falls down but quickly picks herself up. She's a person with a attitude of her own, and most importantly, she lives for herself. She wrote this song after her divorce, and even invited her husband to be in the MTV.

And yes, I love this song.

So what
I guess I just lost my husband
I don't know where he went
So I'm gonna drink my money
I'm not gonna pay his rent(nope)
I got a brand new attitude
And I'm gonna wear it tonight
I'm gonna get in trouble
I wanna start a fight
Na na na na na na na
I wanna start a fight
I wanna start a fight

So...So what!
I'm still a rock star
I got my rock moves
And I don't need you
And guess what?
I'm havin' more fun
And now that we're done
I'm gonna show you tonight
I'm alright
I'm just fine
And you're a tool

So...So what!
I am a rock star
I got my rock moves
And I don't want you tonight
Check my flow (uhh)

The waiter just took my table
And gave it to Jessica Sim (Shit)
I guess I'll go sit with drum boy
At least he'll know how to hit (Whoops)
What if this song's on the radio?
Somebody's gonna die
I'm gonna get in trouble
My ex will start a fight
He's gonna start a fight
We're all gonna get in a fight

So...So what!
I'm still a rock star
I got my rock moves
And I don't need you
And guess what?
I'm havin' more fun
And now that we're done
I'm gonna show you tonight
I'm alright
I'm just fine
And you're a tool

So...So what!
I am a rock star
I got my rock moves
And I don't want you tonight

You weren't there
You never were
You want it all
But that's not fair
I gave you life
I gave my all
You weren't there
You let me fall

So...So what!
I'm still a rock star
I got my rock moves
And I don't need you
And guess what?
I'm havin' more fun
And now that we're done
I'm gonna show you tonight
I'm alright
I'm just fine
And you're a tool

So...So what!
I am a rock star
I got my rock moves
And I don't want you tonight
NO no no no I don't want you tonight
You weren't there
I'm gonna show you tonight
I'm alright
I'm just fine
And you're a tool

So...So what!
I'm still a rock star
I got my rock moves
And I don't need you
And guess what?
I'm havin' more fun
And now that we're done
I'm gonna show you tonight
I'm alright
I'm just fine
And you're a tool

So...So what!
I am a rock star
I got my rock moves
And I don't want you tonight
Ba da da da da da

This song featured her yearnings for her family to be back to how it was in the past. And I think, by writing the song, she somehow came to terms to her family issues.

Sick of trying...

... means you try and try and try... you try so hard... you try for so long... and yet, you can't get what you want. It's a kanasai kind of feeling, and I hate it.

Things are turning for the better. Happy 2009!

For the new year, I pray for more peace.

...for myself and dear ones...

who did not forsake me despite my noisy ramblings, complainings and whinings. I really really appreciate those friends who walked through the rough patches with me, are always so patient towards me with no strings attached, will listen to me and appreciate me for who I am, always try to provide a positive light to whatever situations I might be in, and can make me smile no matter what deep shit I am in, especially the few persons who bought Happy Food for me... and especially the person who bought TWO tubs! You're a very special friend and you have no idea how thankful I am to have you in my life.

As for myself, I may have a lot of shortcomings, but I know what I want in my life. I pursue my dreams, I love the people I want to love, I do what I like to do. I live for myself... not for money, not for anybody else.

Remember to stay happy always, everyone, in the face of any difficulty or challenge in life.

Because you're worth it.

Bread and butter #225 (Recalling nice times.)

I used to blog about every single gathering, but I guess towards year end in 2008, I was too busy to maintain my blog. so here I am trying to recall some nice gatherings I had. I am making full use of my holiday mood currently- heading home earlier (latest by 6.15pm), uploading photos, and stone while I can. :P

Here are the photos:

Dinner with Theresa, Benson and Jie Jiun after popping by Project GIFT Flea Market:The leggy photo. I like the last photo the most. :)
Brunch with Chris, Benjamin and Xinyan: We went to Labrador Park after yummy brunch at Carls Junior. It was drizzling but we insisted on going somewhere before poor Cao Ah Beng goes back into the ulu-fied. Xinyan, my personal assistant, went back to office.
Here's Cao Ah Beng.
Me and dear Chris.
Cao Ah Beng act cute.
Chris doesn't like too much attention on her. Hohoho, that's what I like most about her. :P

Supper with Xinyan, Theresa and Benjamin @ Holland Village:

After a tired day, we decided to treat ourselves good and go eat super sweet stuffs, and boy I could taste happiness in the food! Hehehe. :P Xinyan and me! Theresa is emo-ing because I'm ignoring her.So she started to seek for attention. Again. And again!Benjamin, the huai ren, can no longer bear with her. He tried to murder my dear Theresa with her long long hair!!!But don't worry, we still love each other...and try to include everyone in a photo, even though the resolution is super bad. ;)

Greetings from Norwich...

Hey friends and loved ones,

I survived the flight alone, wandered around the airport in Amsterdam (got shouted at and malu-ated) alone... fought (silently of course) rude people I met along the way, thanked the nice people I met, and almost froze to my death at Amsterdam... At about 9.30am, I finally reached Norwich!

My impression of certain people changed along the way, just within a day. Sometimes, our perception may not be that accurate- we really need to experience before we ascertain the facts. Been doing a lot of people-watching and reflection along the way too... I enjoyed the time with myself, and of course, I am happy to see a familiar face after such a long and tiring flight.

I am able to use the net now, because I am still at Grace's hostel. On Friday, we'll set off to London for a few days before heading to Italy until 6th January 2009. I bought a new scarf and a new pair of boots! Can't wait to wear them! And yes, I will be back in Singapore on 7th, and back in office on 8th.

Take care, everyone!

Love,
Cindy

Bread and butter #224 (The bubbly one.)

Went over to Project GIFT flea market, and met my bubbly girl who came to support her buddy. It has been a while since I last met her... about 5 months already? She's still so bubbly and chatty. It's nice to catch up with her again, spend some time with her (we tried to distribute flyers together), and of course remind her of some things again. Some times, I just feel and pray that the presence of us will be beneficial in the long run. Carl Rogers said one mah, ''here and now''. =P

So many second chances.

Your conscience screams- FORGIVE and forget!!!

But some hurt, once inflicted upon you, is so hard to be forgotten.

Second chances?

I don't think everyone deserves it.

Hey you.

I was feeling pleasant and happy, perhaps a little hungry...
So I decided to pop by and tabao my breakfast.
Just a simple question from me caused you to twitch your red nose and snap at me.

Have a gorgeous day, asshole.

Bread and butter #223 (OT- Thank God, there's good music!)

Listened to a range of songs when I was in office OT-ing on Sunday. Alright, yes... I admit I spent the whole of my Sunday in office. But I managed to finish an internal annual report, some statistics and all the minor stuffs! I also managed to find out a small mistake I made earlier. =P

Anyway, my point is, I ended up liking the songs quite a bit. Heh, it lifted my spirits a little. So I'm listening to them again now. They're songs from someone's blog. Guess who.

Montag, Dezember 08, 2008

If you have the time to listen, I would have the time to share.

I edited someone's quote and made it my own. Hmm.

But I really mean what I said.

Lifesaver.

Some things in our life can be forgotten so easily. I just realised I have almost forgotten someone who is very important to me, someone who was once my lifesaver, someone who used to hold my hand so gently, someone who was not obliged to do anything for me, but still tried his very best to provide for me when I need it.

An advanced happy birthday to my one and only you.

This is just one of them...

If I'm not wrong, this is the third time in a row that this happened. Honestly, I'm kind of disappointed. But I know I can't do much about it.

When everything was set, I will definitely make an effort to be there because this is what I thought as the only way to stay connected. But apparently, what I think is important is not as important in others' lives.

And worse, they try to threaten the importance of it- immature acts and last minute stunts. Don't they get it? That's what I'm most disappointed in. Now where is the support and mutual understanding?

-____-

I really really lack time to do the things I need and want to do.

And I'm trying all means- coming in early, staying back late, coming back on weekends, and preparing to come back during public holiday...

I have confidence of clearing what I need to clear, but I need some understanding and support...

Ni mang? Nan dao wo bu mang ma?
