Bread and butter #305 (Sentosa Outing with the Lovables.)

I had a great time with my kids at Sentosa!

The occasional taking-turns-to-lead, the initiative to approach strangers, my adorable leader who kept reminding the group to stay within 5 metres away from me (I didn't expect the group to remember), my cute boy who offered to carry me when I was limping... haha.

It's really nice to provide these kids with new experiences... and just have some pure good fun with them... =)

Thank God for the wonderful weather- if not the kids wouldn't be able to have fun...

Bread and butter #304 (Is it really that hard.)

Some things just didn't go the way I want them to... even though I know I've tried my best.

A safe holding place, security, love and belief.

Is it really that hard to provide them with?

Bread and butter #303

My schedule yesterday:
8.00am-11.00am : Qian Hu Fish Farm Outing with my Miracles
11.00am-2.30pm : Snow City Outing with another group of students
2.30pm- 4.00pm : Late lunch, waited for my slow computer to start up, replied emails
4.00pm-5.00pm : Counselling Session #1
5.00pm-5.20pm : Impromptu Counselling Session #2
5.20pm-7.30pm : Counselling Session #3

I was feeling damn tired and sleepy, but survived (thanks to the complimentary free Macdonald's breakfast which gave me much energy)! At least I was feeling very energetic throughout my 2 outings. I must have fun with the kids, especially the Miracles, 'cos this is most probably our last class outing with them!

The Qian Hu Fish Farm outing was an eye-opener for my kids. The silly boys were so scared of the fishes but acted cool the moment we took out our cameras. Hahahahaha. Snow City was okay. I expected the place to be much bigger... and I expected more activities since SM told me it was a "Winter Olympics" package. All we did was to piece a jigsaw puzzle, and then it was free play liao. The kids kept climbing the stairs to reach the top of the slope, again and again and again. I slipped and fell. And my arms are aching, probably because I grabbed the handrails too tight... for fear of falling. @#$%^&*

After the two outings, I'm almost half-dead. And after my three counselling sessions, I'm as good as dead. To think I stayed back till 11pm to complete my session recordings... @.@

Hello Old Friend.

I was browsing through your photos on Facebook... then I realise how much I miss having you in my life.

We were so much in each other's lives back in the old school days. You used to write me postcards, used to listen to my problems with so much patience and empathy, used to gossip with me, used to shower me with so much friendship and care. We quarrelled, we share problems as if we were good old ''sisters''... we stormed through, and I even cried when I received your letter, probably the most heartfelt letter that I could ever receive. I'm still keeping every single letter you wrote for me.

We may not be very much in each other's lives now. But I wish to let you know that you're one of my most treasured friends.

And, I miss you. Very much.

Farewell to the Beast.

Before CC goes back to Taiwan for his NS, we had a final lunch at Novena Square 2. byebye1
The next time we could meet is probably at least one year later... byebye2
He brought along OUR favourite toy!
byebye3
And printed us polaroids...
byebye4
Something that I would really really treasure and keep by my side.
Our trainer and I. Looking at these photos reminded me of the eat-paper-cup joke.
And the shoe-versus-face-shape joke.
As well as the make-up and non-make-up shots...
byebye5
Somehow the gathering today made me realise (or reminded me) that it's amazing how different life paths of people cross each other's at some point of time, and how different people influenced each other as they appear in each other's lives... Sometimes, people may leave you or they may stay with you... for that, we may not be able to control much. We can only try to treasure the moments we have with each other for as long as we can.

We'll miss you, definitely. =)

Life is short- treasure it.

I'm not even 25 yet, but I'm going to blog about this.

It's scary how little incidents remind me of how my health might deteriorate as time goes by.

Recently, I had a very bad sore throat (thus an ultra sexy voice). Good thing is, my school-based work has generally ended, so opportunities for me to raise my voice are lesser... though engaging children at my centre and counselling sessions still continue... which is why I took so long to recover. If I were to lose my voice permanently, I will not be able to speak with my youths or children. That's scary and I do not want that to happen.

Then a few months back, I injured my arm because I over-exerted myself during a dragonboat session. After two consultation sessions and some medication, my arm is still not fully recovered. The rate of recovery is slow... I like dragonboat... and I like badminton too... What if my arm can't recover? And what if, it's so painful that it affects writing... I can't continue with scrapbooking too...

And now, my poor ankles are aching. I think I over-exerted them during the hike last Saturday. I suspected that I twisted them, so I kept looking out for signs- swelling and immense pain. Even took cab home to make sure that they get as much rest as possible. Thank God, (I think) I didn't twist them! They're not swollen, just slightly painful... I shall just let them rest. I twisted my ankle before, and I definitely don't want it to happen again! Imagine, if I were to lose my ability to walk or run...

Life might be damn short- treasure it.

Macritchie with a chance of Good Weather.

At the beginning of the hike... we were very energetic. =PIMG_0513
Along the way, we took another group photo.
IMG_0520
JY demonstrated her multi-tasking talent by talking on the phone, hiking, and overtaking us all at the same time...

I looked like a glutton trying very hard to be healthy (by hiking) in that tee.

TreeTop Walk. Endlich!

Notice WC's hands... haha.

I like the photo below- MZ and Eliz look like they were cheering for us.

WC's hand's still not leaving the handrail!

Love this quote.

Ah Pek and his fan.

The neverending trail... WC walked so fast... and I was trailing behind him...

And, I can't believe that he wore slippers!
I was so tired that I couldn't take an upright photo properly... nonetheless, I enjoyed the hike. It was a very good workout! Too bad, LX the businessman can't enjoy Macritchie with the good weather...

Take every dream seriously.

It's been one or two months since I decided to embark on an exciting journey to fulfil my little dream. I've done what I need to do... I've asked what I need to ask...

So far, no reply... I know I may seem a little bit clueless about what I'm getting myself into, but I am serious about it. Apparently, I was not taken seriously...

I'm going to shelve this aside for a while, at least for now...

Bread and butter #301 (Royal Service.)

Ultimate sweetness, thoughtfulness, and care...

Special thanks to Seng Meng for decorating my workstation with balloons, for coming up with all the designs of the cards (so creative of you!), for buying the Big Breakfast, for buying the birthday party stuffs and for bringing racks from home to put it up (?!), for waking up so early and coming into office even though it's your off day! Touched. Touched. Touched! =)

Lovely lovely. =)

The treasure underneath... Big Breakfast and something special from my student.

Special thanks to Benjamin who gave me what I wished for- a warm honey drink (which is so sweet but very nice), a massage stick for me to massage myself, a slideshow of hunks (who are not of age 29 or 30... and he even consulted Xinyan about what kind of hunks I like) and lastly, a gift from the heart. (You must have lost a lot of sleep.) On top of that, a free ride to office by a smartly-dressed him in slippers. Wahaha.

My chauffeur for the day. Check out the footwear.

Love the honey drink.

One of my favourites- Til Schweiger.

"Gift from the heart."

Special thanks to Xinyan for the hotdog treat, the ultra-sweet-looking gift, and your patience!

And lastly, special heartfelt thanks to Laoban for the touching note.

Thank you so much, folks! ♥ ♥ ♥

Blessed. =)

Birthday at Sentosa.

Marutama lunch- bloated.
The sunblock that we didn't use at all.

Always feel that hopping onto the skyride is a challenge leh- need to be fast!

After Loogi ride.

The only decent group photo. Taken with the risk of lang-gah-ing with other riders.

Next stop: the beach. I love it.

Dinner at Cafe Iguana- bloated again. Haha.

Surprisingly Sweet.

10th October 2009

Mont Blanc wouldn't taste as nice if it were to be eaten alone.
the girls
The NUA girls. Either JY needs to improve her eyesight or MZ needs to improve her handwriting... hahaha!

A passerby who lost his way at Ion joined us for lunch.

Lanterns and sparklers. My first time playing with them.
Sparklers higher, lanterns lower!

Thanks for remembering that I want to try Mont Blanc (thus the cake), thanks for remembering that I adore steamboats (thus the Coca buffet lunch), thanks for the birthday song (was feeling warm and fuzzy after that), thanks for the thoughts behind the choice of the gift, and thanks for all the laughter. I feel blessed. =)

The wonders I've seen recently...

1) Small typo error that can change the whole meaning and worse still, make the recipient totally clueless about the whole content of the email. Hello, vet your own email before you send it out lah.

2) An email reply that does not answer the query, say when you asked, "will there be any issues with regards to...?", your dear friend tells you that he's in a damn good mood. Hello, stay relevant leh.

3) People who perpetually don't reply emails... I'm not refering to personal and casual emails- more of work emails. Some don't return calls too. I thought, that's basic courtesy? And what I've learned this year is to send interim emails even if I'm in the progress of getting things done. If you're not on leave or time-off, freaking reply your emails and calls lah.

4) The obvious being overlooked. Someone told me that I've not done something when I've already done it. When I called to check the records, this someone told me that she has overlooked and didn't see my name. Hello, never sleep enough ah?

I know mistakes are inevitable, but certain loopholes should be avoided. At least you should show the effort of trying to avoid creating such wonders. What's wrong with these people man. Wake up please. You're at work- not on holiday leh.

Come on- stay focused.

Bread and butter #300 (Children...)

3 October 2009-Puzzlethon.

Still sick but had a good time with my kids. Seeing them trying their best to complete the puzzles warms my heart. It's cute that the kids can understand what I'm trying to tell them despite my voice being ultra sexy. There's this kid... who was so proud of his trophy that he kept showing it off, hahaha. He was beaming away lah! Plus, J & H are so diligent!!! And V's forever so adorable... my Cactus boys hor, can really be so honest with them 'cos they can reflect so much better now. Mrs Ting's remarks on S touched me too because I can very well see the growth in him.

After contact time with Laoban and my chat with Seok Ai, I realised how much I love to work with children.

I have fun encouraging them, engaging them, knowing them better, finding and learning techniques to better help them. They have helped me learn, that there are multiple reasons for misbehaviour (other than the usual four reasons) and that I should really learn the real reason before I start to judge them and react in a way that is not beneficial for them.

I want to try to see things from their perspectives, understand them, engage them, nurture them and be their friend. I know, that they have the potential to bloom and I believe in each and everyone of them.

Children... is the way to go for me. :)
