Bread and butter #327 (BBQ with NYAA volunteers!)

We were at the famous "Theresa's Park". BT, TW and me once jogged there and we kept smelling bah zhang as we passed by a pavilion where an elderly couple ate bah zhang together... That's a pretty cruel act for hungry joggers. T.T

I met a very friendly and nice couple who reminded me to keep a lookout for my bag and switched on the toilet light for me!

The female volunteers and us.

Group photos. Everybody thinks Theresa is muscular.

Bread and butter #326 (Loopholes =()

Just spoke with TN about a boy... and the loopholes of my programme felt like a pain in the ass. It felt like saving the kids from drowning for just a few seconds and then throwing them back into the deep blue sea.

Now, I'm just wondering if the loopholes could be smaller and fewer in 2010...

Bread and butter #325 (East Coast Park =))

My personal adventurous feat to try to cycle (in a double-bike) at East Coast Park, all thanks to my patient girl who tried to give me a "ride of my lifetime". Hahahaha. =)

I enjoyed having breeze blowing against my face and the carefree feeling that I got as I paddled all around ECP.

My group, Adidas' sandcastle.
We ended the day with a BBQ and maggi mee-cooking session. It was a bleargh experience as the mess-tins were oily and I think I consumed some parts of a plastic fork. Anyway, the kids were all dog-tired- they ought to have more regular exercise lor... haha. ;)

My "bed"- made up of my sleeping bag (been using it since primary school) and my bagpack. Only slept 3 hours. I missed my bed and pillows at home... =/

Bread and butter #324 (Keep trying!)

My boy did not manage to get what he wanted. =(

He remembered that he had to sms me. (I am always pleasantly surprised every time he sends me a sms to update me about his life.)

I just hope, all these disappointments are just going to make him stronger...

Keep trying, kid, I know you can do it.

Bread and butter #323 (我知错了。)

(Smses were sent in 2008.)

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaaa...

Leave days are days when you catch up with yourself.

Given the fact that I couldn't go overseas this year, I made a pact with myself that I will try to enjoy my leave days in Singapore. If I whine and whimper, other people also can't be bothered with me lah, so might as well make the best use of my time. Every second counts. Life is short. Heh.

I tidied my wardrobe- categorised my clothes and at a certain section, categorised the colours too (hahaha, but I gave up half-way lah)! Am quite glad that now I know where exactly my clothes are. They used to be everywhere... @.@

I realised I have an empty portion in my wardrobe, so I decided to dedicate that space for archiving my life. Yes, my dearest diaries shall stay there. I'm at my 18th diary now! It's amazing how I managed to write so much. I was enjoying myself as I read some of the stuffs I wrote... pretty amazed at how I always summarised the content of the diary at the last page. For instance, if the year has been tough for me, I will encourage myself or I will end off with an inspiring quote.

I chanced upon a sheet of paper with post-its... filled with encouragement/pep talk I gave myself when I was in JC. I think it's pretty cute. *Will post up the photo! Found many many more things which reminded me of a lot of memories! My choir gowns (both secondary school and JC's), the first gift from YJ and ZM, my Pollypockets, my book marks (yes, I used to collect them!), old keychains, a book which I used to write down inspiring quotes, a book my primary school teacher gave, my Sec 4 artwork on A4 size paper, my travel journals, etc.

And yeah, I managed to vacuum and mop the floor too! All the work took me approximately 3/4 of the day! But I am quite satisfied with the result. Now I just need to pack my desk a little. :P

Plan for this week:
Monday: Camp with NYAA kids (Will Miss Koh die of embarrassment? Stay tuned to find out.)
Tuesday: Camp Closure, might be staying back in office to finish my annual reports
Wednesday: BBQ with folks and NYAA volunteers
Thursday: Gift-exchange with Ping and Sab

P/S: I was reading my old blog entries in 2008, and noticed a slight change in the way I blog. I used to describe loads of details with a lot of feelings/reflections, and more importantly, I felt I was more candid back then. Hmm, not sure what made the difference, but I would like to inject some life back to my dearest bloggie again. :)

P/P/S: My handphone almost died on me this week, I wanted to cry. T.T In the process of trying to receive a MMS, it hung and had fainting spells throughout the last few days- got me so worried. Last night, my handphone has finally permanently failed to receive that MMS and from then onwards, it has been well. At least, it no longer has fainting spells. My gosh, I hope I don't receive any more MMS. Wanna show me picture, please send me email or post it on Facebook. My handphone is old and frail and can't tahan high-tech gimmicks.

P/P/P/S: Because of the above incident, I deleted all the messages in my inbox, and of course, archived the interesting/funny/memorable messages. Hehehe.

P/P/P/P/S: I have FINALLY FINISHED PAYING my study loan!!! One thing down on my to-do list!!

Alright, bed time. Tschüs!

Bread and butter #322 (Getaway to JB 2.)

17 December 2009

Went shopping and eating at JB with Julie, Bessey and Theresa! We wanted to catch a movie in the evening too but the cinema was so coincidentally closed!!?!?!!

We had some desserts too, and due to my food poisoning, I could only bring myself to eat warm/soupy stuffs. The ladies said my dessert looked cheapo. :/

The next time I go there, I wanna do my pedicureeeee!!!
Shiok! =)

Boxing Day with the girls.

We went to A971 Cafe and realised that most of their prices end off with 71 cents... -_-
Our budget Christmas presents-exchange =)
What I learned from this: practical gifts are always the safest choice (unless you know what exactly the recipient likes).

After a light dinner we headed to Nectarine for our desserts.
Shany and me- my favourite shot of the day. =)
The main highlight was of course our Strawberry Shortcake.
Look at the amount of fruits decked on that single slice of cake!!!

Finally a group shot.
Merry Christmas, everyone!

Bread and butter #321 (Status Cloud- so "Bread & Butter"...)

Saw this application on Facebook and I tried it out!

So cute leh... can really tell what fills my life up, hehe. "Geen"... Si geen na...
1d589e7649acc7d2f9339c9b4a7cbc93
Then I got kind of greedy and tried for the largest status cloud. Soccer, Seng ah Meng and dearest Laoban... :)

019b39d15fba609fce8b5d2dbb517587
I guess this kind of sums up my 2009!

P/S: I was writing Christmas cards for my colleagues, and it felt like a thanksgiving process. I recalled moments of 2009 and I think it's really good to sum up a year by giving thanks to the people in my life, especially the beautiful people. :)

Skinny Pizza with the Beauties.

Me and the bai4 jia1 nu3. Haha.

Xinli: I want to wear your hairband!
Cindy: Why? I thought you have a lot of hairbands already? (Why would XL fancy my hairband when she has so many more colourful and cute cute ones?)
Xinli: Because I don't have this one (pointed at my hairband like some bratty kid).
Cindy: -___-

Our wacky EL and YF.

XL turned violent. O.o

And decided to murder EL! How come YF looked pretty excited about that ah?
Pizza with mushroom- very safe choice, because I love mushrooms.
But then the evil girls decided to order squid ink pizza despite my very violent objections. (I have tasted squid ink icecream before, and trust me, it sucks. Don't even try unless you want to taste fishy-ness in icecream...
Any weird smell? Zum Glueck, no. :)

I'm glad the pizza tasted okay. The squid slices were fresh and juicy!

Urgh! My hair landed on the plate! This is the welcome-to-my-house pose by XL.

Have I mentioned that EL and YF were sitting on bicycle seats? Luckily they were wearing pants lor. I wouldn't know where to place my legs 'cos I was wearing a skirt.
Rounding up the meal with desserts. How can anyone live without desserts? :P

4/4 Gathering :)

13th May 2009.

I found a draft email I typed for Herr Sagemann, last saved on 13th May 2009. Am kind of upset that I didn't manage to send it out half a year ago. Now that things are better, I'm sure I can send my usual twice-a-year emails or letters.

I'm drafting my letter now. Even though my German may be super broken by now, I still want to write in German for Herr Sagemann. I remember he always insisted that we speak German when we were with him, and he will slowly teach us the right words if we made mistakes. He will definitely be very glad to see my letter in German.

Zum Glueck, I still remember some basic Deutsch. Very happy about it, because it is more than a language for me. :)

I miss Germany loads.

Bread and butter #320 (Our Heroes.)

At Sungei Buloh with the NYAA kids.
19 dec 168
This particular smarty noted down keywords during the tour, so that he can answer any question by the tour guide.
19 dec 170
I love the greenery there!
19 dec 176
After continuously taking a few shots of the greenery, someone told me "only know how to take trees only!" -_-
19 dec 180
The Phua Chu Kang boots!
19 dec 212
Ms Wang and Ms Koh, in yellow PCK boots and gloves.
19 dec 217
Time to get down to work!
19 dec 221
We picked up litter and did some mangrove-planting. I only managed to plant one seedling together with D. Subsequently, both of us were stuck in the mud even though we wanted very much to plant a second seedling. Fortunately I have my dear heroes who came to my rescue- if not, I think I would have sank into the mud... T.T
my heroes
At Labrador Park- my dear heroes to our rescue again! There was a very heavy downpour and we were all stuck at the pavillion. They came (ran) over to send us some umbrellas. So sweet of them! :)
