Interesting streets... Yummy cakes and latte! Together with WS, and Julia. Went to a lovely book store too! Julia bought two oranges... ... that lights up if I smack it hard enough. :P And lastly, yummy dinner to end off the day! :)
(03:40) "In the past, you did not use your brain when you speak. But now, you know how to choose your words with care. An ambition person like you... giving up was for the sake of friendship right? That is why a person who talks rubbish like you would suddenly behave like that..." - somehow can relate well with this... ;)
(05:56) "How much you've prepared, how much ability you have, the stage will understand, and will give you your applause. But if during your preparation, you are lazy or are too afraid, the stage will know all of this, like a ghost. It may even lead others to ridicule you. The stage will treat those who prepared enough and those who are qualified will be tolerant and benevolent. Only at that time will you be able to grasp the stage." - What you get depends on the effort you are willing to put in.
I only wear this top once in a year... and since Bessey and me looked so good, I shall post all three photos we took today... Wuahaha. ;) 1... 2... And 3! Happy Birthday, everyone! :)
1 or 2 years back when you told me that there was this particular guy who is hard to understand, I didn't quite believe but I still remained respectful towards your perception... or should I say, your professional judgement?
But today I wish I can throw back your comment at you. You're one tough creature to understand as well. And you shut people off, without providing any reason at all. This is even scarier than people who dislike or offend you outrightly because it feels like a stab in the back.
Unspoken, yet understood. Maybe it's really obvious, but that's not important. What is important and comforting to know, is the unspoken care and concern. These friends are for keeps.
I keep getting goosebumps when I watch this drama because i can relate so well to it. Firstly, Mr Kang's non-stop belief in the kids:
After preparing and putting up a fake showcase, Mr Kang decided to be truthful and let the parents know that their kids are probably not the top students of the school, but they are definitely the ones with burning passion and dreams... "I want to soar with them like e eagles. Although I don't know how wide their wings are going to be..but I would still want them to start..." (03:13) I want to continue to have such an undying belief in kids.
Secondly, the struggles of the kids who painstakingly search, chase and build their dreams with little support from the significant figures of their lives... yet fortunate enough to meet people who are willing to guide and journey with them, from the initial disappointment and hurt from other's disapproval or apathy... to exploring and building up on their strengths and knowing what they truly want in life. In the drama, Taec's father did not approve of his dream of performing and forced him to study abroad. Taec managed to escape from the bodyguards and went back home... 泽演的内心戏非常棒!:)
And when you seemingly feel like you are a failure as compared to others:
"If you realise your mistake, reflect and correct yourself, and grow, then rise to the top of the hill, then you can be the heroine of the story. Your story is far from over. So don’t lose your patience just because you weren’t fast enough. If you go slower then you can see more along the way. If you ask me which person will grow stronger… I think it would be the one who took it slow." This reminds me of "taking time to smell the flowers along the way". :)
FXC stands for Fadhli, Xinyan and Cindy, hahaha! It's a special team name I coined for my dear team mates. :P
Anyway! We finally met up with the class this morning, and the teachers in the afternoon. I enjoyed myself so much! Felt so privileged and excited to be finally experiencing the systemic work (after 3.5 years of struggles and limitations) we can do in school. Systemic whole school approach is what we champion but it's either rare or challenging to have.
The students are super cute and I can already predict that they would be a joy to work with. As for the teachers, I am touched with their willingness to come together for a meeting with the students' interests in mind. And the nicest thing of all- they really care for the students and put in effort to improve their learning and experience in school.
It's gonna be an exciting journey ahead with my FXC! :)
3.71 Musical: You like the rhythm and sound of language. You like poems, songs, and jingles. You enjoy humming or singing along with music. You probably remember things well when they are associated with music or rhythm. Try to incorporate sounds into your lessons, such as using a familiar tune, song, or rap beat to teach spelling rules, or to remember words in a series for a test. Here are some other ways to use your musical intelligence:
Create a poem with an emphasis on certain sounds for pronunciation. Clap out or walk out the sounds of syllables. Read together (choral reading) to work on fluency and intonation. Read a story with great emotion — sad, then happy, then angry. Talk about what changes — is it only tone? Work with words that sound like what they mean (onomatopoeia). For example: sizzle, cuckoo, smash. Read lyrics to music. Use music as background while reviewing and for helping to remember new material. Use rhymes to remember spelling rules, i.e., "I before E except after C."
3.71 Self: You have a very good sense of self. You like to spend time by yourself and think things over. You will often take in information from another person, mull it over by yourself, and come back to that person later to discuss it. You like working on projects on your own. You often prefer to learn by trial and error. Effective techniques to enhance your learning include keeping a journal and giving yourself time to reflect on new ideas and information. More ideas:
Go on "guided imagery" tours. Set aside time to reflect on new ideas and information. Encourage journal writing. Work on the computer. Practice breathing for relaxation. Use brainstorming methods before reading. Listen to and read "how to" tapes and books. Read cookbooks.
3.29 Body Movement: You like to move, dance, wiggle, walk, and swim. You are likely good at sports, and you have good fine motor skills. You may enjoy taking things apart and putting them back together. Incorporating body movement into your learning will help you process and retain information better. Here are some ideas.
Trace letters and words on each other's back. Use magnetic letters, letter blocks, or letters on index cards to spell words. Take a walk while discussing a story or gathering ideas for a story. Make pipe cleaner letters. Form letters out of bread dough. After you shape your letters, bake them and eat them! Use your whole arm (extend without bending your elbow) to write letters and words in the air. Change the place where you write and use different kinds of tools to write, ie., typewriter, computer, blackboard, or large pieces of paper. Write on a mirror with lipstick or soap. Take a walk and read all the words you find during the walk. Handle a Koosh ball or a worry stone during a study session. Take a break and do a cross-lateral walk.
Other than the above three, there are other types of Intelligences too: Language (Linguistic), Spatial, Social (Interpersonal), Logic/Math, Nature (Naturalist). Now I'm going to help my Lovables in their journey of searching for their strengths!
Sag´, glaubst Du an ihren Untergang? Sag´ mir, bist Du für Dich noch von Belang? Und bist Du frei im Herzen Deiner Phantasie -Fühl´, und entsage aller Theorie.
The fact that you live (Text / Music: Tom Albrecht) Say, how about making you so small? Say, why do you always want to be who else? Cry, scream your name at the time. Cry, you hit waves for miles. The fact that you live makes it all different, you are the reason and occasion. Because you are alive you sense and sensual, make yourself indispensable. Say, do you believe in their downfall? Tell me, are you still relevant for you? And you're free in the heart of your fancy-feeling ', and renounce all theory.
I still believe, thanks to this song, thanks to Tom Albrecht. Whether he is still singing now is no longer important- just as long as he is happy and leading a fulfilling life... and continuing to believe in what he believes in.
Had quite a good time with the folks, including Angeline and Kaifen... Enjoyed watching people catch marshmallows with their mouths, and tried myself too. I managed to catch 5 (if I did not remember wrongly)! Inspired and excited about the plans ahead... especially proud of Mr Lee's presentation... 2011 might be an uphill journey to the highway, but it's going to be interesting. :)
Farewell to Angeline, but hello to all the challenges ahead!
And! Happy 3rd year (to myself) in the Social Work sector!
This is the chocolate pancakes (THREE of them!) with a scoop of sticky chocolate icecream. We didn't finish all the pancakes as there were 12 pieces of them in total and only 4 girls. @_@
But I love my breakfast pancakes with garlic butter! Chunks of garlic inside the butter! YUMS!
Thereafter, we went for KTV. Let's hope that there's more nua time this year! Hoho! ^_^
